How much will I be paid as a crisis travel nurse, allied health or support professional?

CRU48 travel nurses, clinicians, and support staff consistently earn higher hourly wages than permanent staff members and longer-term travel healthcare professionals. Ultimately, your compensation will depend on your specialty, experience, and assignment location. We always negotiate top rates for our travelers, and with guaranteed hours, that means you’ll be earning substantial compensation.

When and how will I be paid?

We offer direct-deposit pay, so your paycheck will be automatically deposited into your bank account.

What kind of insurance benefits can I expect as a crisis travel nurse, allied health or support professional?

While you care for others, CRU48 cares for you – with the best group insurance plan on every assignment. Our package includes health insurance, life insurance, dental insurance, and prescription coverage. You’ll also have free, first-day professional liability insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage. Plus, our insurance is portable, so you can take it with you should you decide to leave.

You’ll have the option to add short-term disability insurance, cancer protection, and/or critical illness insurance for an additional premium. We make adding optional coverage simple by deducting premiums monthly from your paycheck on a pretax basis.

Can I add my spouse and/or my children to my insurance?

Absolutely. You can add your spouse or children to your health, dental, and life insurance for an additional fee, which we’ll deduct monthly from your pay-check on a pretax basis.

Will I have access to a 401(k) so I can save for retirement?

Yes! You can enroll in the 401(k) retirement plan after only 90 days of continuous employment and defer up to 30 percent of your income, tax-free.

Does CRU48 have a tax-advantaged plan?

We do! You can increase your paycheck by up to 15% through the tax-advantaged plan! CRU48 is able to give you a daily allowance for every day you are on assignment, which could add up to 15% more money in each paycheck. This incredible benefit is available to all full-time travelers on assignment at least 50 miles from home and allows us to reimburse you for meals and incidentals in accordance with federal law. It’s really quite simple: just let your recruiter know you’d like to enroll, and we’ll include the total amount of money you’re eligible for each pay period in your paycheck.

What type of free, private housing do you provide?

CRU48 previews all of the housing we offer our travelers. We have relationships with preferred housing complexes and top-of-the-line extended-stay hotels across the country. We aim to provide you with well-appointed accommodations in desirable neighborhoods close to your assignment facility. Your housing will be in move-in condition upon your arrival, complete with furniture and utilities.

What if I am bringing my family with me on assignment but can’t find my own housing? Can you help me?

Yes. We can offer you a private apartment for a nominal fee. Let us know in advance how many people are traveling with you (maximum of five) so we can find the right accommodations to fit your needs.

Can I bring my pets to my assignment?

You can bring pets to an assignment if you provide your own housing. On a rare occasion, we might be able to find a private room in an executive-stay hotel that will allow pets, but there may be an extra charge or deposit for this. Check with your recruiter.

If I choose to say with friends or family or find my own housing, what subsidy will I receive?

Subsidy amounts depend on the area’s cost of living. Housing subsidies are calculated monthly and paid every two weeks. Your recruiter can tell you how much you would receive for a housing subsidy during your initial conversation.

Will I be taxed on my housing subsidy payment?

If you have a permanent residence, you will not be taxed on your subsidy payment. If you do not have a permanent residence, taxes will be deducted from your subsidy. Please consult your tax advisor.

Will you pay for my travel?

Yes. We will reimburse mileage for travel to your assignment and back home up to $400 each way ($800 maximum round trip).

Do you cover moving costs?

We don’t cover moving costs; however, we do reimburse mileage for travel to your assignment, up to $400 each way ($800 maximum round trip).

Do you provide me with a rental car while on assignment?

No, but since we reimburse you for miles traveled to and from your assignment, you can take your own vehicle at no cost to you.

Does CRU48 offer referral bonuses?

Yes! You can earn up to $1,250 for each referral! We offer unlimited referral bonuses to thank you for helping us represent so many talented healthcare professionals.
